If you cover your RV with ordinary auto insurance, you could be exposing yourself to serious financial risk or paying too much for coverage that doesn’t fit your needs.
Fortunately, Insurance West makes it easy to get the specialized RV coverage you really need, at money-saving rates.
**State Farm, Allstate, Travelers, Safeco, Liberty Mutual and other companies not specializing in RV insurance
1 If your RV is totaled or stolen (and not recovered) in its first five model years it will be replaced with a comparable new RV, even if you're not the original owner. After the first five model years, you will receive your full original purchase price - not a depreciated amount - toward the purchase of the replacement RV. Replacement Cost Coverage must be purchased during the RV's model year or within the following four years.
RVs with an original cost new of $500,000 or more will be insured only if all autos in household are also insured with NGIC Ins. Underwriting approval required.
1. It's not really insurance
While many refer to "SR22 insurance" an SR22 is actually just a certificate your auto insurer files with the state who requires it to vouch for you. Basically, it verifies you have the proper coverage. You will only need SR22 if a judge convicted of certain offenses, failed to pay judgments, driven or owned a vehicle involved in an accident not already insured.
2. It's does not cost as much as you think
If you are required to carry an SR22, you might be able to just add it to your policy with a small fee.
However if you don't have insurance or your current insurance company does not offer an SR22 filing then you will need to get a company that can.
3. It won't be forever
In most cases, 3 years from the date you're convicted give or take, At that point, call your insurance agent and ask to have the SR22 removed from your policy.
Generally three years is also how long it takes to clear your driving record. So, any violations that triggered your needing an SR22 have cleared from your record, too.
In the meantime, keep your head up, know we have all been there, and remember that, in time, this will become "that one time when..." kind of story.

Our philosophy at Insurance West is to build relationships and provide superior customer service. In the story of a couple who were referred to us, you'll see our philosophy in action.
We have the pleasure of working with many other agencies on referrals of clients that need help with their insurance needs. We have built trusted and solid relationships with our referring agents, and we're always happy to assist, as we did with a current client of theirs that carried their home, auto and umbrella policies. The couple's home was being sold because they were retiring and downsizing.. The couple were in the process of purchasing an older mobile home in a park, however the insurance needed for the home was something their agent couldn't sell them in a policy. Their agent contacted Jessie.
Jessie worked with the couple on their homeowners policy and was able to secure a replacement cost insurance policy. The referring agent still kept the couple's Auto and Umbrella Policy. Why? Because we do not cross sell to their clients.
We are happy to have our new clients and we wish them such happiness and relaxation in their new home after their retirement. We also were happy to work with their referring agent, there's no greater trust than getting a referral.
We are shouting THANK YOU from our Insurance West roof top! When we began our Holiday Lights Display and Canned Food Drive for the Puyallup Food Bank on Monday, November 28th, we were coming from a place of giving and kindness.
We were so happy to have two fellow businesses in the Puyallup Community collect food and donate food. Volcano Coffee on South Hill, and ServPro of Puyallup in the Valley partnered with us and they deserve a round of applause. Being a part of such a great community makes giving easy and through our giving, we build relationships.
We are happy to announce we will be donating to the Puyallup Food Bank with our 2017 Holiday Lights Display! We will be partnering with businesses in the Puyallup Community and of course, having our blue donation bin outside and accepting donations in our office. (This marketing director couldn't be MORE excited!!!)
Today, I had the utmost pleasure of delivering your donations to the Puyallup Food Bank. I also had another opportunity to see Karen! She's one amazing woman who I'm happy and honored to know!
The pictures above were taken right before we left to go to the food bank! We even collected some money that the Puyallup Food Bank can use by shopping for things they need.
When I arrived at the Food Bank, I found Karen and immediately witnessed so many volunteers helping. It's such a humbling experience going to the Food Bank, and seeing the kindness and eagerness to make sure so many are fed and cared for. There is not ONE ounce of judgement in the air, it's truly a group of men, women, teenagers, and elderly coming together for one loving cause, making sure each person leaves with their food, and a smile on their face because THEY are cared for.
It makes me think that maybe when people come in they're nervous, or feel like they are being looked at negatively because they are using a service such as The Puyallup Food Bank, but I honestly know that they may come in thinking that way, but they leave feeling respected, appreciated, cared for and at times, prayed for. The Puyallup Food Bank holds a special place now in my life, and it's because of Insurance West. I'm so thankful for working here and meeting such wonderful people and working in the Puyallup community.
As we look forward to next year, I encourage you to sign up on our Events page on our website at www.insurance-west.com. We will be sending out information through out the year to inform you of our Food Drive benefiting The Puyallup Food Bank and Holiday Lights Display. Plus some other events we will be hosting in 2017.
I also encourage you to donate to the Puyallup Food Bank individually. They are so kind and excited to see you when you arrive. You can visit their website www.puyallupfoodbank.org for information.
We here at Insurance West are so thankful for your donations and your support. We couldn't have done this without you!
The 12th stop is our last stop in our Holiday Gifts of Kindness Road Tour. Before I share this last story, I would like to take a moment and reflect on our mission and how our giving gave me one of the best Holiday Season's in a very long time.
2016 has brought on a lot of negativity. I think we have all seen that. However, what I noticed in the last couple months and especially the last few weeks, is how kindness has been a prevelant story in the Media, Social Media, in Communities locally, across the United States and abroad. Kindness DOES matter!
I personally feel kindness is something that should be in our every day lives. Not to say that things are not going to bother us, annoy us or make us upset, however, we can choose kindness. When you choose to be kind, YOU are making the difference in your own life. You are controlling the kindness and at the end of the day, one small act of kindness can truly make the difference. Here's an example.
I had to run into a auto parts store for spray paint for my husband. Quick in and out, right? Wrong! With three people running the counter, and a line, I was stuck and honestly ,a little unhappy about it. What I decided to do when it was my time to come up to pay is I smiled at the person and walked up. Her demeanor immediately changed. She smiled back and thanked me for waiting. We chatted about our Christmas and how it seems everyone has a cold or flu this year. She complimented me on my necklace and said thank you, with a smile, again. You see, we ALL knew they were busy, we all felt a degree of dread for waiting, and yet, by simply smiling and chatting with a positive attitude, she felt appreciated, I felt the wait was worth my while now, and I left not feeling irritated, rather better than when I arrived. A simple, small kind smile helped me and another person.
The feeling of being the positive in the negative is what inspired me to begin Holiday Gifts of Kindness. Being thanked, appreciated, and thought of is one of the best feelings we can have, and that is what we set out to do!
You could see that on some of our Holiday Gifts of Kindness, we teamed up with local businesses, and for this one, Jersey Mikes partnered with us. Jason, the manager at Jersey Mikes (4009 S. Meridian. Puyallup 98373), was so generous and gave us some free sandwich gift cards.
Our last stop on our road tour literally took us to our back yard. Well, to the business that connects our yards. Tammie and Robert, the owners of That Sticker Store here in Puyallup (11601 100th Ave Ct E, Puyallup 98373) are our go-to business when we need stickers and banners. We also use their business for our vehicle wraps. They are always phenomenal to work with, their product is superior and their turn around times are on the mark! We are very thankful to work with them and have them in our Community. If you ever have the opportunity to work with That Sticker Store, please do. You won't be sorry!
"Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things, even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy we receive that drives these simple acts. When we perform acts of kindness, driven soley by an insatiable desire to love one another, there is kindness in everything we think, say and do."
Jessie and I set off one day and delievered most of our Holiday Gifts of Kindness, however, because of the surprise element we missed just a couple people. Well in this case, the office moved all together. We decided we would go out another day and meet with Allen of Prime Lending Mortgage Co.
Since I had another location to go to, Jessie and I decided he would go to Prime Lending on his own. As he set off, I told him to snap a picture for our blog posts.
Later that morning, I received an email with the photo, and about thirty seconds later Jessie called me. He was laughing when I picked up the phone, and explained that he had gotten all the way out to the truck and realized he hadn't taken the picture. So, he ran back in to see Allen and grabbed the picture seen below. He said they were so happy to receive our chocolates and were already getting ready to sample them!
